Jeffrey Bores
Jeffrey’s yoga journey began in 1998. He was instantaneously drawn to Sri K. Pattabhi Jois’ Ashtanga Yoga while attending a class taught by Master Yoga Instructor Monique Maxwell. In 2000, Jeffrey completed his teacher training with Monique and began instructing yoga sessions in the Twin Cities. Jeffrey has continued to study with other prominent teachers both nationally and locally, including Erika Halweil, Corey DeRosa, and Larry Schultz. He recently continued his Ashtanga teacher instruction by studying with David Swenson.
With a teaching style that encourages students to delve deeply and compassionately into their practice using breath and awareness of proper alignment, Jeffrey makes his classes accessible to students of all levels. His yoga sessions are challenging, but they always retain a playful element. His sense of compassion and humor are always present.
Jeffrey was featured in the October 2011 issue of Yoga Journal in an article about impassioned yogis who moonlight as yoga teachers because there is no greater gift to share than the practice. He is quoted: "If you organize your life around things you are passionate about, nothing is a time burden. You end up spending time with the people you want to spend time with and doing what you love."
Jeffrey is the director of taraNa. He proudly opened the studio in 2006 and loves the strong and vibrant yoga community at taraNa in Southwest Minneapolis. taraNa has been named Best Yoga Studio in the Twin Cities by City Pages. In addition to teaching yoga at taraNa, he practices law with and is the managing partner of Chestnut Cambronne in Minneapolis.
