Benjamin’s search for truth began long before being exposed to yoga, but coming to the practice of yoga felt like returning to who he had always been. To deepen his studies, Benjamin moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to study Indian Classical music, Ashtanga Yoga and Organic Farming in 2003. On the path of integral spirituality, Benjamin has been blessed with many great teachers, including the maestro Ali Akbar Khan, Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois, William Prottengeier and Larry Schultz, with whom he completed Ashtanga Vinyasa teaching certification at “It’s Yoga” in March 2005. Through these relationships, Benjamin has learned that the art of teaching is to inspire a love of the practice, for great teachers are always students of life.
His teaching is a reflection of his own personal practice integrating the living arts to bring about health of body, peace of mind, and spiritual awakening. Explorations in the practices of yoga and music as living arts have deepened his experience of what it is to be human and divine. Benjamin seeks to embody and unify these realities through the simple truths of love, compassion, and non-attachment. To share the wisdom of yoga as a teacher is both a blessing and great responsibility, as there is no greater service than the work of love. Namaste.
