 Cynthia Kim

Cynthia’s initial understanding of yoga in 2010 was that it would keep her limber and fit during the times her dance team was off-season. Three years later, after a family trauma shook her off the academic hamster wheel and she was forced to finally sit still, the spiritual teachings began to sink in. Once the essence of yoga penetrated her heart and healed her in ways she never knew it could, she was compelled to share this gift with others.

Cynthia is now a 200 RYT specializing in various levels of Vinyasa Flow. She was trained by E-RYT and Shamanic Reiki Healer, Nicole Doherty through YogaWorks after graduating UCLA with a Psychobiology B.S.  Through this education, Mindfulness courses at the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center, 3 years of work as a Medical Assistant and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation technician at psychiatric practices, and her own experience teaching Mindfulness and Yogic breathing to children in LA, she has gained a scientific and experiential understanding of the mind-body connection and its significance in approaching human health and happiness. Influenced by her experience as a student and a teacher of pole dance as a therapeutic outlet, she creates a soft nurturing space of curious exploration. Cynthia gently encourages her students through intelligent and challenging sequences, empowering them to be agents of their own healing.

Cynthia aims to attend medical school in the coming years and hopes to integrate yoga and meditation into a patient-centered holistic psychiatric practice.
